★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden treasure trove of small food stands. This place is a bit hidden behind another restaurant but it is worth searching out. You'll find 11 different food stands offering everything from salads to BBQ to crepes. The food was first rate and the atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly. You can also order alcohol from the bar that is right next to the stands.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chikatana is my personal fave of the selection of rad dining options here, but the bar service is laughably terrible. I've been here a dozen times and while the food at all the kiosks is always great, the Onza barkeeps are straight up negligent. Don't be surprised if they ignore you waving at them and then act surprised when you walk up to order a drink at the bar.
Still, Mercado Carmen in general is a gem and it's a fabulous place to bring a group when people are in the mood for different types of food. Gret music and vibes.

I'm sure that not ALL Tourists know about this Location yet... but when they find out... the entire court will need to hire more people. It's worth giving your Belly into. you choose the Type of Food, and Dig In!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is undervalued! They have a bunch a different restaurants in this little plaza. That you could basically be here till midnight. They have a variety of cocktails and food. It’s also a big place. So you can enjoy a refreshing afternoon here

A short walk to the Parroquia, and adjacent to a decent sized parking lot, this “mercado” features a number of excellent restaurants, a full bar, and often has live music in the evenings. Seating is open and centralized, with all the eating options along the walls. The restaurants all have full table service regardless of where you choose to sit. There is a wide variety of options, and something for everyone in your party. Make sure to visit on Tuesday, when many of the restaurants and the bar offer 2for1 specials!

There are options here outside the norms of San Miguel – Indian, Moroccan, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, boba tea, and wings – in addition to a bar, a café serving Chiapas coffee and crêpes, a seafood-focused Mexican joint, burgers, and others. The whole food-court model actually seems unique in San Miguel as well.
Good food and good service. Here’s the pho salad.
Some evenings there’s live music!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoyed the lunch we had with friends. It is disappointing that opening is advertised as 1PM but really, we could get food at only one place at that time. We had to bang on the door shortly after 1 to be let in. By the time we left more places were opening up, so 3PM might be a better time to go. We'd like to go back to taste offerings from other vendors. We understand that there may be music on Friday evenings. The bar had a large selection of drinks to choose from.
Definitely worth checking out.
