★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has just about anything you would need or want in the way of souvenirs from the area. There is a significant amount of local fresh food options in the middle of the market.
A little tight in space on the second floor especially if crowded, so if that's not your thing you might want to go at a slower time. Also make sure you read the labels because not all items are made in Mexico.

It’s chaotic and colorful collection of market stalls selling wide varieties of items. A great place for visitors to haggle for gifts and souvenirs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came here to look around. It’s a huge two level market with all sorts of vendors selling from food and fruits (first level) to clothing, all types of souvenirs (second level) and more. I can’t believe this place was meant to be built as a train station. It is a must see!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building where the market is located is constructed of beautiful early 1900s architecture. It is believed that it was supposed to be a train station. The market is comprised of two levels. In the lower level you can find all kinds of different items from artisan pieces, fruits and vegetables, candy, to most importantly freshly made food. The top level does not have any food but it does have souvenirs, clothes, hats, jewelry and many many more items.
It’s a great location to find beautiful Mexican pieces to take back home as souvenirs and reminders of your trip to the beautiful town of Guanajuato.
I purchase shot glasses, shirts, hats, candy, jewelry, and other trinkets to bring back to the United States.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Certainly worth visiting, even if only to look around. The building itself, the vendors and the food are all lots of fun. Be sure to try the tacos here, after looking around thoroughly to see where the most people are congregating. We weren’t disappointed!
