★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the first places I go when I travel around Mexico, is to the mercado. Mazatlán has three major ones (that I know of) and this one is in the middle. Of the many around the country I have visited, this one is just okay. It doesn’t have the wonderful food options and the stalls aren’t the cleanest or the foods aren’t displayed as nice as many others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taqueria El Chino inside el Mercado. We had the quesabirrias with a plate of Birria con consome. It tasted the way it should. Plus the habanero salsa was spicy. Just the way we like it. Highly recommend the hidden gem. It's home cooked f food without all the glamor but full of flavor.
