Everything is of great quality and very beautiful. It is "expensive" because you know that you are supporting the working families of Mérida and what you buy is at a fair price, DO NOT BARK! What they do is an art and you have to appreciate it. We are very happy with my hand embroidered blouse and my husband with his beautiful guayabera. We recommend the place for sure, they treat you very well, they are all very attentive.

Nunca vayan estafan !!!!
Never go scam !!!! I bought two presidential guayaberas for 1300 mxn each and they ripped us off !!!! It is not linen, they take advantage of tourists when we want to help the artisans they see your face, they still ask you to pay cash to steal more, be careful not to go to this place.

Estafadores!
Scammers! Never in my life have I felt ripped off like this. Burglars !! They told me that the hammocks were made of henequen and that the Mayans took 6 months to make a hammock. They told me the tremendous story and that the day after they would return to the little town. It is true to us. I paid for a cotton hammock £4,000 I was very upset that they left a store open in the center with this terrible service to tourists

It is an absolute scam. The prices are inflated, it is 2 to 4 times more expensive than elsewhere. We were accosted in the street by an "employee of the tourist office" and he told us to go there. Her child kindly offered to help us (with propina of course). When we got there it was a shock. A real insult to local craftsmanship because they make a huge profit on the heads of craftsmen while scamming tourists.

Rip off.. everything is way over priced. They claim that all proceeds support the indigenous people back in their village and that other shops in the area only carry Chinese knock-offs. I bought a hat from them but grew suspicious when they were charging over $300.00 USD for a wooden trinket. I was able to get the exact same trinket a few days later for a tenth of the price they asked for. I asked several locals later on the legitimacy of this place and they all said to stay away.

Has a “friendly stranger” just started talking to you on the street? He also happened to have a friend in the country YOU just told him you’re from? And he gave you some great local recommendations including this store? Wow, aren’t you lucky? The answer is; No. You’re too gullible. The guy you just spoke to is part of a grand local scam where they lore you to their store and sell you overpriced souvenirs. So If you find yourself in this store or (hopefully) still in front of it, look at the below average reviews like mine and leave. Don’t let the good looking store fool you. Their is hundreds of others stores that will sell you the same quality souvenirs that are just as authentic for a fraction of the price. Found yourself in the above situation and think this review is helpful? Please leave a like so it gets pushed to the top and more people will see it.
