★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The market sells lots of clothes, but if you wander a bit (and it's pretty big), there are many fruit and vegetable stalls, and lots of people selling chickens. There are also great deals to be had on tacos, tortas etc. The area around the market is also very much worth a wander.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite markets in the world. Sadly, please eat here with caution. The nearby river is an open sewer & many reports of illness. Do shop for fruits, vegetables, handmade tortillas, candies, dried chiles, spices, coffee, chocolate. You can find beautiful candles, raw wool, little toys & sweaters. Be sure to walk around the periphery of the market to see all the day vendors. Early morning is best, but this market is bustling all day.
