Amazing market. You will find everything?

It's a beautiful market! So many people, so many things to buy. You MUST go on a Sunday. :)

This is a huge market, absolutely overflowing with the old and new. You'll see everything from homemade mole, Chile paste, tortilla presses and baskets to some cheap Chinese junk. There is a meat and vegetables market that has grills going in the middle, where you can grill your own food on the spot. We went on a Sunday and there were a lot of traditionally dressed women selling and shopping and balancing baskets on their heads.

This market was recommended by every travel website, travel agency ect... If you are a foodie & you enjoy experiencing local food & like to see how locals live than you will love this place. Sorry, I have no photos of the market but it’s MASSIVE, about 6 blocks. The inner food market is divided by type of food. There is a cool area where you can buy your meat/veggies & then grill it in the middle of the isle. You can buy fresh tortillas to accompany any meal. Barbacoa seems to be the star of the show! I highly recommend finding that area. It’s a lot of tiny kitchens next to one another so who knows who has the best barbacoa!! This market is an opportunity to see a different side of Oaxaca. You will see locals dressed in traditional garments. You will see live animals for sale as well as hungry dogs everywhere. If you love the adventure of new environments, new food & lots of people than I highly recommend a visit. This market is more about food than gift or apparel shopping. Fun bazaar full of food, leather goods and clothing. Best time to shop is on Sundays when the market spreads for blocks outside of the main market

Street food with potential. I had grilled chorizo, chicken, and beef which was hot and miss. The salsa and tortillas weren't great. Atmosphere is fun though

Lively market with just about anything you could want. Except a helmet.. Watch your head if you're on the taller side.
