Allí encuentras productos de la región y productos muy especiales que no encontrarás en ningún otro lugar tales como Yerbas medicinales, miel mantequilla del volcán, maracuyá brasileña y colombiana, membrillos, cuajiniquiles, vainas de mezquite, entre frutas y semillas extremadamente frescas. También hay cocinas fondas de un gran sazón dónde se sirve desde la deliciosa cecina de Yecapixtla hasta platillos tradicionales. Es un gran lugar digno de visitar, surtirse y conocer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El mercado como en todo pueblo que se digne, es encantador. Para los ojos un deleite de colores, formas y contrastes. Para el paladar nuevos sabores, aromas y descubrimientos. Les recomiendo especialmente los tacos de arroz, particularmente el de Chile relleno, con el peculiar sabor del chile poblano relleno de queso. Los tamales pintados con un delicado sabor y el descubrimiento es el tamal de capulín, solo en temporada mayo - junio. Es una especie de mermelada suculenta, gelatinosa de delicado sabor.
Para la botana pidan los cacahuetes hervidos, pese a todo pronóstico, sabrosos y adictivos. Y todo lo anterior a precios bajísimos, elaborados por manos prodigiosas.
Ah, afuera del mercado en la subida, no se pierdan un puestecito de tacos de suadero, bistec, tripa y longaniza. Tan solo la vista del sartén hirviendo los hará babear. Sugiero los de tripa, no tienen mamá...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bien hacer las compras básicas, mercado tradicional con una distribución curiosa de pasillos y locales. Queda sobre la avenida principal cerca de la iglesia de San Juan Bautista. Enfrente hay un estacionamiento para dejar el vehículo y recorrer con tranquilidad la zona.
