Went to get some food here on our way to the tepozteco (which is closed). Stressful and expensive market. Steer clear.

You'll remember me when the west wind moves Upon the fields of barley You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky As we walk in fields of gold So she took her love For to gaze a while Upon the fields of barley In his arms she fell as her hair came down Among the fields of gold Will you stay with me? Will you be my love? Upon the fields of barley We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky As we lie in fields of gold See the west wind move like a lover so Upon the fields of barley Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth Among the fields of gold I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold Many years have passed since those summer days Among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down Among the fields of gold You'll remember me when the west wind moves Upon the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold

Lovely and chill... I've been to a few of these villages which draw spiritual seekers and this one is much more authentic and friendly. Usually these tourist markets are a rip-off (pisad, machu pichu, Koh Phangsn,) but not here. Oh, it looks cool from the air too... here's a pic

If you go to Tepoztlán you have to enter to the market and taste all the food in there, I recommend the quesadillas specially the ones with grasshoppers they are delicious, they may not look good but they are really good!

I’ve read many blogs raving about the prehispanic food here, so I decided to try it, boy I wasn’t disappointed! I ate at the stall “El Tlequil” and ordered the Tlalqueliadas (aztec veggie patties). They also serve different types of exotic meats like wild boar, snake, deer, armadillo, etc Come here if you want to taste something new!

It was 10.30 in the morning, & it was one of the few places in the entire town that was open! As you can see, my eggs were just as i wanted them, & the 2 cups of coffee were very tasty. Typical Mexican breakfast for the area. great price too. sit by the window to watch the town open up!

Love the Mercado, a lovely walk around with the beautiful scenery of the mountains behind. Great environment and very friendly local people, smells amazing with all those food stalls.
