★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mercado Soconusco is a mostly dark and mysterious market to which people come from all around to buy stuff, breakfast, lunch, a chicken or vegetables, get stuff fixed and, while they're here anyway, sell some things. On the western edge over by the often shady park, there are a variety of shops dedicated to the repair of small engines, bicycles and telephones. There is even an animal doctor -- the doctor will see just any animal -- who's got a lot of animal food on hand.
