Tuve la oportunidad de asistir allí a una cena típica que nos organizó el ayuntamiento, con motivo de una reunión de WACS (Asociación Mundial de Sociedades de Chefs). Palacio municipal además de ser la sedequé las direcciones y el presidente municipal Izúcar y lo se realizan diversas actividades culturales de suma importancia dedicados a los turistas locales y extranjeros que año con año se dan cita en las temporadas vacacionales del ciclo escolar y las temporadas vacacionales decembrinas. Es un lugar muy tranquilo, seguro y de sana diversión , espaciamiento y recreo. La gran mayoría de los edificios que se encuentran en la zona centro del municipio están pintados de colores bajos como beige, melón y blanco por algo es conocida mundialmente como la blanca Mérida.
