Mezcal Casa Alejandro de la Vega - 68000 Oaxaca de Juárez

Hello! Thank you for coming this far. I am Alejandro Pacheco, 4th Generation Mezcalero from the state of Oaxaca, Mexico.

The oral tradition of my family goes back to the beginning of the 20th century with the birth of my great-grandmother in a mezcal town called Villa Sola de Vega, today known for its Tobalá mezcal and itsChilenas (traditional band music).

My great-grandmother would marry my great-grandfather, a local mezcalero. Together they would set up a small ancestral palenque on Jose María de la Vega street, the town's main street which connects the church with the plaza. Unfortunately, my great-grandfather would die some time later, leaving his children in the care of my great-grandmother.

My great-grandmother becomes the pillar of this project, as she was in charge of transmitting not only the knowledge to make mezcal, but also that affection and hardwork that mezcal means to her children.

Today, after almost 100 years, my time has come and I want to be able to share mezcal with the world. Being able to show the richness, culture and tradition that a drink like mezcal has.
