Mito Restaurante and Wine Store - 40880 Zihuatanejo

This place is awesome! My buddy and I can not figure why it is not packed every night. The food is world class. The prices are embarrassingly low. We way over tip because we feel as if we are stealing from them. Hurray! Check it out before they go under. We asked our waiter, Raul, why the place is not packed. He said that summer was not their "season." In the winter, they get a more refined clientele from the resorts in Ixtapa. Well, we are in no way refined but we know fine dining when we taste it. Check out their menu. Everything we tasted was an explosion of flavors. Example: They brought us a "palate cleanser" that was a tiny piece of watermelon with goat cheese and passion flower sauce. If it sounds weird, believe me that you won't think so after you have greedily devoured it. We went back several times to try as much on the menu as possible. There are many great restaurants in Zihuatanejo but this place is a level above them all.

Great meal! Can’t wait to come back. Chile relleno con cameron, yum! And the most refreshing pineapple celery juice granita enjoyed with a nice sauvignon blanc.

AWESOME!! We had to look for this place since it moved (it’s near the biblioteca/library) Raul the head waiter was there, the food/wine was delicious and the dessert a great finale. Plan to go back before our vacation is over. ?

Service and food were great. Not the most interesting location across from the library but do try it. I had the Mesclun salad and fish three ways- red snapper, seared tuna and mahi mahi. Excellent!

Great service. Nice complementary, after meal, pallet cleansing frozen passion fruit service. My wife's chicken was very good. My seafood pasta dish was good, but the best part was that the shrimp was not overcooked which can be a problem in Mexico. We set in an air-conditioned room off to the side, which was a real treat as it was 90 degrees outside.

We like trying new restaurants! Today we ventured forth, and stumbled on this beautiful little restaurant! After talking to the hostess and viewing the menu we decided to give it a try for lunch even though they offered us both breakfast and lunch menus at noon! The menu is diverse with many unique options. We decided on tacos because we were in that kinds of mood. I had the Baja Style Shrimp Tacos and my companion had the Arachera Tacos. The tacos were made with fresh, hand made, tortillas and were beautifully presented with condiments and delicious spicy salsa. The shrimp and beef were both cooked to perfection. Simply delicious! The order, which had 3 tacos was perfectly filling! We will definitely be going back to experience more deliciousness soon. This restaurant serves organic foods and has a vast array of Vegetarian and Vegan options on their menu as well. They also have a huge wine list and offer hand crafted cocktails. Very happy we stumbled on to this deliciousness.

Always tasty nicely presented. Ron had pasta and corn soup I had a miso style soup with rice noodles and vegetables. Very nice. Tortilla chips with salsa to start with and a dish of vegan ice-cream to top it off Nicely done

You will NOT find a better quality restaurant than Mito. The main reason we all go to restaurants is the FOOD! Mito’s does not disappoint in quality, service or personal food choices. They are accommodating to an extreme. This restaurant if located in another city would be 3 times the price. If you don’t go, you are the one missing out. Location may not be the most scenic, but the food quality is second to none.
