A culinary experience.

First time here. Had mole and rice. The best mole I have ever tasted. Would definitely be back.

Four of us went to Mo Kalli and were greeted warmly by Catalina Lucas who is the owner and chef. She is also known in Mexico as a Cocinera Tradicional which is a badge of honor that distinguishes women who know how to cook well and have used recipes for past generations. Catalina prepared 4 moles for us and one had been invented by her that very day. It had maracuya, pineapple and other fine ingredients that melted in your mouth. We had a four course meal and everything was prepared with attention to detail and it was superbly spiced. We were treated like royalty as she explained every dish with mouth watering detail. We were treated at the end of our experience with meeting her mother is responsible for teaching Catalina her wonderful skills. Please include Mo Kalli restaurant in your culinary experience when in Oaxaca. You will need to get a cab and have the cab wait for you as the restaurant is in a neighborhood.

Delicious and a hidden gem of a place. Fine local dining and a lovely chef/owner was a delight to discover this spot.

This is a fantastic restaurant that I would highly encourage anyone visiting Oaxaca to take the time to visit! The owner is a very talented chef in addition to being a very warm and generous person. The food is fantastic, some of the best molé we had in Oaxaca. We were able to sample all different kinds, as well as delicious juices, pastries and fruit. I wish I could have visited again! Do be sure to call or text ahead of time to make sure they are open.

Catalina is extremely talented and has a huge heart. Her cooking made me feel at home. Her mole dishes are delicious, my favorite it’s coloradito. This a MUST if you are traveling to Oaxaca. Her food can be paired with Mezcal. Be sure to reach out to her before your visit to make a reservation. She cooks everything fresh when you visit her.
