Buy them at the place because here they will get you really good
Kids are free and these people wanted to charge me for my kids
So save your time and money and don't stop there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here on our way to chi Chen Itzá and the man who gives traveling advice told us about a tour package that included a Mayan ritual cleaning and a atv rides to two cenotes and food at the end (drinks not included take heed!). The photo package was optional but worth the price. I will admit it was sketchy af and it’s a bit further away from Chichén Itzá but it was worth the effort and time to go.

They stood in the road with high-visibility vests and flagged us off the road as if it was required that we stop when crossing the border (taking advantage of the possibility that we might expect a border check during covid). We were on the way to Chichén Itzá and they told us if we didn't buy our tickets we would risk not getting in due to reduced capacity. This was a lie. They also lied about the price we would be charged at the gate in an attempt to sell us tickets at a 100%+ markup. In other words, it is an authentic Mexican experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to stop and use the restroom. Safe, clean, and friendly staff. There are some vendors selling tours and such buyer beware these typically aren't the best prices available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don’t stop when you see the guys with the green/orange vests wave you to stop. It’s just a waste of time to make you buy overpriced tours/tickets. Waste of time! Won’t be using the tollway anymore, too many crooks and the tollway is under construction anyway, took me 3.5 hours to arrive to Chichen Itza.
