Monraz House, Hotel Boutique & Gallery - 44160 Guadalajara

This is not a hotel but a bed and breakfast. The rooms are not comfortable, you no place to put anything done in the bathroom, the noise from the street is extremely loud all day and night. I checked in very late as my flight got in late, I have not been able to get more than one hour sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PLANNING ON NOT SLEEPING AT ALL. The hotel service is terrible, no elevator, dim lighting, the toilet has a door like you would find in a public bathroom, so if you are traveling with another person, plan on having no privacy in the toilet. sink area is so small you cannot put even a toothbrush on it. The hotel is not allowing the full refund for the nights I am leaving. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED AT IN GUADALAJARA. Go to Krystal Urban for a real hotel boutique. There are many others in Guadalajara that are amazing.

Great small boutique hotel, with themed rooms, a nice restaurant bar, conveniently located near restaurants and bars, close to downtown, university district, U.S. Embassy. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will definitely stay here again when in Guadalajara.

Nice little hotel with great restaurant and patio dining area. Friendly and helpful staff and thorough housekeeping with drinking water and coffee provided daily. Other reviews mentioned noise from clubs but we only heard music on Saturday night and it was not loud enough to disturb us. Very comfortable bed in the Suite Presidencial!

I definitely recommend staying at this boutique hotel located near Tlaquepaque Avenue. Delicious food with great service. The owner is very attentive to guests and is an amazing hostess.

We stayed for almost 2 weeks and felt really at home. Very nice owner and staff, cool arty and cosy atmosphere with couches everywhere. Already planning to come back ... :)

I struggle to understand how this is a 4 star rated hotel. I don't know if we got the only unrenovated room in the hotel because we had paint peeling off the ceiling, tiles popped off in the shower and water damage on the walls. Housekeeping was also inconsistent and we would have only one bath towel for two adults to no hand towels on certain days. On certain days housekeeping wasn't done at all even though we were out all day. It says no smoking in the room but the lobby and areas outside the rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. Some of the interesting rules listed for the room were that if we were to check out early then we would be charged a 200 peso cleaning fee. I do wonder how many times this has happened in the past for the owner to list a rule like this. Another rule was that if blood or hair dye is found on the sheets or towels then we would be charged which would be fair except for the fact that the towels provided were stained. However, the biggest problem here was the noise from the surrounding clubs. It was on almost every night that we were there for the two weeks. I know this isnt something that this hotel can control but if you can put up with everything above then my one piece of advice is to bring ear plugs so that you can get some sleep. The hotels has some beautifully curated pieces and hits the mark on a boutique hotel but misses everything else in terms of service. The restaurant, however ,did deliver good food and great service.
