★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our taxi driver took us to Monte Coxala but passed a different spa along the way from the town of Ajijic called Spa Termal at Hotel Balneario. I asked if there was a difference and he said, "They are both really great." Come to find out, there was absolutely no comparison. The Monte Coxala is a beautiful, high-end spa with breath-taking scenery that follows an Aztec theme with larger-than-life statues of warriors and dragons and thermal baths dotting the property (ok, they're mostly hot tubs). We didn't see the other spa come close to any of the grandeur of the Coxala. I agree with some other reviewers that the food, and sin of all sins, the margaritas are weak and uninspiring. We got massages which were a bit pricey for Mexico, but very relaxing. My only complaint is that the music they played during my massage was the same song on a loop so it kept playing for 90 MINUTES. Good thing it was a very relaxing song. If you can let the little things roll off your back, you'll find this place to be a real jewel with a great vista of Lake Chapala.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a restaurant and hotel/spa on the top of the hill.great view of the lake and the mountains.
They have buffet breakfast on the weekends. It is very busy, and popular restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give 0 stars that would be my rating. I tried so hard to make a reservation but this is honestly an utter joke! The phone numbers on their website don't work. Once I found one that seemed to work but no one would pick up. I have tried to call and text at least 30 times
in the last 3 weeks but it's not possible to make a reservacion. So I gave up because it's a waste of time. Clearly they don't need customers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of fake reviews on here... As mentioned before they don't answer phones, had to call repeatedly to book the reservation. The view and place itself is very nice , although the fountain and pond down by the infinity pool were very unkept and smelled horrible. We wanted to order room service, but had to call 4 times to get them to answer. During this time we found that the Jacuzzi didn't work so we also called for this. The food and the Jacuzzi guy arrived at the same time but they didn't bring a knife to cut the bread/cheese and apparently the other guy needed some things to fix the jacuzzi. Two hours later we still had no knife and the jacuzzi guy never came back. When we called reception to ask if he was coming back, they said sorry we can't fixed it an offered us another room at 1030PM...... When we complained about this at checkout they discounted us the actual cost of the jacuzzi and one food item. Joke.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was unbelievable. The natural hot springs where awe mazing and the massage was world class. We will definitely be coming back here when we move to Guadalajara. The goal will be to stay overnight since we couldn’t do it the first visit. 100% with it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The architecture is cool. I honestly expected more. At check in we arrived 20 minutes before and they refused to let us check in and we had to wait 20 minutes. The rooms requiere mosquito nets especially if you want to enjoy the amazing breeze. The outside bathrooms needed a bit of cleaning. I did enjoy the restaurant. There are a lot more spas nearby and with better service. Also just to reserve I had to call many .. many times.
