Monterrey Gastro and Bariatric Group - Dr Barrera - 64620 Monterrey

I had been on the fence about going to Mexico for surgery. However after speaking with a friend of mine who recommended me to Dr. Barrera and Nydia his coordinator all worries disappeared. Nydia is awesome at what she does and that is coordinating. When I say she is on point I mean she is on point!! Any and all questions I may have had was answered and explained. She sent me a detailed itinerary on what was to happen from the time I was picked up from airport to the time I was dropped back off. Nydia handled it all and even sent pictures of the car and cell phone number of my driver so I knew who was picking me up, she booked my hotel room and COVID testing for my return flight back to the states. Nydia pick me and my companion up the next morning she took me to pick up my RX meds and off to the Dr's office we went. At office it was very professional and clean and I meet with the staff (super friendly) and professional and then met with Dr. Barrera. What can I say but WOW what an awesome and amazing doctor. I got to sit down and spend some time with him, he explained the surgery and asked and answered any questions or concerns I had. The hospital stay was equally as nice in my private room with my nurses checking on me and handling my needs. The day of check out Dr. Barrera hand delivered my DVD of my surgery and answered more questions I had along with more info. I highly recommend Monterrey Gastro and Bariatric Group for your surgery and I give all my thanks to them all!

I really enjoyed my experienced from start to finish. Nydia was a total angel handling everything for me, and she kept in touch step by step before, during and after my surgery. I traveled alone and was a bit scared but Nydia made me feel safe and comfortable. Dr. BARRERA was AWESOME! EXPLAINED everything thoroughly and just overall great. (Rest of the team as well) . Best experiance ever. I recommend Monterrey Gastro and Bariatric Group hands down. I had my surgery a little over 3 months ago and even now, if I have questions I know I can contact anyone in the group. However, Nydia is a superstar. She was there from the very beginning. She gave us all the information we needed throughout the process. All the Dr's were helpful and very knowledgeable. I am so happy we made the decision to go with Monterrey Gastro and Bariatric Group.

I’ll start by thanking Nydia, Dr. Barrerá and his team! I’m officially one month since my sister and I had our mini bypass surgery and I’m so happy that I took the decision to get my procedure done by the best! Nydia’s attentions before our surgery, arrival, stay, during and after has been excellent. I’ve had 1000 questions before and even now and she is still helping me. Dr. Barrera thank you, the attention and care given to us was the best. We flew in from Dallas, Tx to Monterrey and Nydia helped us feel safe since our arrival, once we arrived there was someone already waiting for us, our hotel was already booked for the necessary days and our appointments before surgery where scheduled and all organized. Muchas Gracias, and of course I definitely recommend them you won’t regret it!

What an experience!!! I am extremely thankful to Nidia for all her guidance through the whole process of my son’s procedure. She was always in close contact making sure everything went smooth . Dr. Barrera is an expert in what he does . I put my faith in god and doctor Barrera’s hands to guide him to a successful surgery. Everything was a great success . My son has little to no discomfort and was released the 3rd day after the surgery . I highly recommend this team of experts . ?

Dr. Barrera and his team are honestly the best. Nydia, the international coordinator is amazing at her job. She answered every question and doubts I had. For my first time going to Mexico and by myself, she made feel at home and never made me feel uncomfortable. She not only took the time to inform me of everything I needed to know but was in constant communication with me. She even took the time to take me to some of my pre op lab work. They plan everything for you and you just have to show up. Everyone over there was so nice and welcoming. I am at my 3 month post up and loving every minute of it. 50 pds lighter and living my best life. Can't wait to keep shedding off the pounds. I will admit i was hesitant at first regarding doing the surgery in Mexico. I didn’t see myself going to Mexico not knowing anyone and being away from my family gave me anxiety. However after heavy research and the fact that my sister had just done the surgery with him put me at ease as she was so impressed with Dr. Barrera, his staff (Nydia) and the hospital St Christus. The procedure went well and i was stress free from the moment i got off the plane i was greeted by their trusted driver who drove me to the hotel and to all my future appts and medical necessities from the time I arrived to the time i left. Nydia answered my concerns regardless the time or date (Sunday). His staff went above and beyond! No complications and i’m so happy I got it done. No regrets.

So happy with the outcome of my gastric sleeve procedure. After many months of research and deciding what doctor and location im so glad i decided on Monterrey Gastric and Bariatrics!! I was so nervous and worried having to go through a procedure especially a country away from home but let me tell you Nydia was amazing guiding me every step of the way from the first phone call to the day i left. And Dr. Barrera is awesome super nice and attentive and all facilities including hospital US medical standards or even better I was so so impressed with detail and attention of the whole process and team I strongly recommend.
