Centenario de la Gesta Heróica de Castillo de Chapultepec, de manos del Gobernador del Estado Lic. J. Jesús González Gallo en el cruce de las avenidas Faustino Caballos, hoy Niños Héroes y Lafayette, hoy Chapultepec, obra del arq. Vicente Mendiola y el escultor Juan Olaguibel. La columna elaborada en sillares de cantera y concreto culmina con la Madre Patria elaborada en cantera rosa, cubierta por una larga túnica y sosteniendo una guirnalda. A sus pies el relieve de un águila parada sobre un nopal. 3 años después, el día 17 de septiembre de 1950 fue inaugurado este monumento, por el Gobernador Jesús González Gallo. se realizaron Honores a la Bandera. Se guardo un minuto de silencio. Y se interpretaron piezas musicales y los alumnos del Colegio del Aire realizaron maniobras aéreas. Este monumento tuvo una segunda ceremonia de inauguración que se efectuó con motivo de la visita que realizó a la capital del estado el Presidente de la República, el Lic. Miguel Alemán, la mañana del 5 de marzo de 1951 estando presente el Gobernador del Estado el Lic. González Gallo, ambos acompañados de sus respectivas esposas y una numerosa comitiva. Terminada la ceremonia se trasladaron para la inauguración de la base aérea militar de Zapopan.
