La inspiración de su nombre viene al ser construido a finales del siglo XVIII como fuerte y almacén de pólvora de los españoles. Tras la independencia fue abandonado hasta principios del siglo XX, cuando se rescata para funcionar como escuela, luego hospital de sangre, garita y bodega, hasta finalmente convertirse en museo en 1977. Aquí verás la participación de los monclovenses en los períodos históricos más importantes del país.
About Museo El Polvorín
The inspiration for its name comes from being built at the end of the 18th century as a fort and gunpowder warehouse for the Spanish. After independence it was abandoned until the beginning of the 20th century, when it was rescued to function as a school, then a blood hospital, sentry box and winery, until it finally became a museum in 1977. Here you will see the participation of the people of Monclova in the most important historical periods of the country.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es un lugar muy lindo, en sus paredes se aprecia la cantidad de historia que a pasado ese lugar, antes de visitarlo recomiendo que busquen en internet algo de historia sobre este lugar, tiene potencial para que lo visiten con regularidad pero requiere más atención de los que administran. Importante no dejarse llevar por los comentarios y vivir la experiencia porque hay mucha historia en este lugar. Consulta los horarios con una llamada aunque está ubicado en una zona centro es mejor no dar 2 vueltas.

Además cuenta con una gran cantidad de piezas que al observarlas, tienen el poder de transportarte a él mundo de acontecimientos que pasaron por ese objeto. Y lo importante que fue y que sigue siendo en nuestra época.
