★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food / true Mexican cuisine that's so authentic you'll feel transported in time. Owned by the most wonderful woman who happens to be the lead anthropologist astronomical alignment for the pyramid nearby. A must visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After our tour of La Cañada de la Virgin with Albert Coffee of Albert Coffee Tours, we had a lunch of prehispanica foods. After lunch we attended a presentation by Dr. Rossana Quiroz, one of the people that studied the pre-hispanic observatory. The food was absolutely delicious, the Pozole con jabalí (pozole with wild boar), hand made tortillas, the fruit drink was all wonderful. We have a good sized party and the service was great; the presentation was also wonderful by a person that is very invested with the site. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a hidden gem of astronomical gastronomical prehispananza.
We were lucky enough to tour the Cañada de la virgin site with Dr. Rossana Quiroz, one of the key archeologists that excavated the site. With a gleam in her eye she took us back in time, enthusiastically answered our questions and tickled our curiosity with the unsolved mysteries of the site.
Afterwards we relaxed here, enjoying delicious local snacks, her husband's art, and the beautiful backlight photos demonstrating the site's function as a giant astronomical device that kept track of seasons. We hope to come back soon!
