About Museo del Cafe, El cafe-tal apan

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this place a second time. Really love it. Their guides know a lot about coffee and make the experience really worth it. The place is a long term project of the owner, that has acquired the collection little by little.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Actually we came to Coatepec mainly for this museum and had big expectations. I wrote email before our arrival and they hapily arranged 3 hours tour in english (we’ve visited with two young children).
I wouldn’t call it museum tour with guide, it’s more like invite to a family home to share their passion, the way of living, homemade lunch and of course - coffee, from the tree stage to the black drink in your cup. It was way beyond our expectations - the museum, surroundings and the plantation area are beautiful. But we loved the most Apan family hospitality and their business model, when all the family members are incorporated in their business with their extraordinary talents and charm. Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Did the 'package 4' tour with Samuel. He was really friendly, spoke good English and gave us a super interesting tour of the coffee farm and different stages of the process. The museum is also lovely.
One small bit of advice would be, it would be nice to do a more full coffee tasting at the end, e.g. comparing coffees made with beans of different roasts, to understand how flavours can change etc. I would have found this very interesting!
All in all, a lovely tour :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an excellent museum and tour.
The museum is small but has a lot of interesting pieces and coffee paraphernalia. The winner though is the intimate and informative tour explaining the local coffee making process topped off with a coffee tasting at the end. Samuel our guide was brilliant. He was patient with us non-Spanish speakers while being super friendly and he really explained the process to us clearly. Thoroughly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small but fun museum. I recommend the tour guide and tasting (catacion). A must visit on your trip to Xalapa. Samuel did a great job with the guided tour. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Coatepec has a long and illustrious history of being one of the best coffee growers, producers, and exporters. If you love coffee you will like this place. As always, support local businesses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little Museum. You pay 60 Pesos to get in. Then you can walk around a little and after that they will give you a tour and tell you all about the production of Coffee. You can also taste coffee. The smell is great there I love it! Also there is a little shop where you can buy coffee and related things.
