In 1948 and 1950 the first mines in Magdalena, Jalisco and around, one of the first discovered mines were discovered was ”The One” discovered by Mr. Pascual González González in 1948, located in the foothills of the Tequila Volcano within the municipality of Magdalena, Jalisco. was subsequently mine San Simon in the year 1958 by Mr. Gabriel Galindo Rubio, who was engaged to make charcoal to remove a rock in his way to the oven and burn or preparing the charcoal glowing stone was found and realized it was an opal, and selling the stone was found.

Excelente lugar conoces muchas gemas un poco de como se obtienen y además la gente que te atiende te da buenas reseñas de las piedras y como las trabajan u obtienen

More of a store than a museum...(?) Most likely a cultural difference, it was very uncomfortable that an employee followed us around the store like a few arm lengths away. He would jump into our conversation to give us information about EVERY item we looked at. A bit pushy since selling appeared to be the main motive. Due to our U.S. cultural upbringings, this made us feel super uncomfortable and turned off. He even followed us out of the store...
