Also just passed by today around 11 a.m. and the archeological park with cenote were closed, apparently because of the COVID ?

This place is not visited. Most people visit the most hip places like chichen or uxmal. This one deserves the attention. There are no big crowds and the museum is quite complete to have a general understanding of the mayan. The edifices found are pretty interesting.

The museum is fantastic. It is part of the $152p entry fee. There are many descriptions in English and lots of incredibly preserved artifacts. They close at 4pm. It is air-conditioned so great to go after exploring the ruins.

General ticket for Foreigner 259 pesos, for Mexico 149 pesos. Too much expensive for this small and poor place. I remember the Calakmul in Campeche, the very famous world heritage, cost only 230 pesos, the Edzna in Campeche, very famous Mayan ruins, cost only 75 pesos. The most unreasonable is that you pay full ticket, but the service you get is: the museum closed, and the small and dirty Cenote also closed. About the so-called Mayan ruins, you can see the metal and cement, can't be original, and there is any explanation, if you want to get more information, there are tour guides waiting for you, but you must pay extra. For this tourism project, I think the reasonable price is 60 PESOS, NOT MORE

Small and pleasant Mayan ruins site. The museum is closed due to pandemic.

Museum is OK. It's not air conditioned, however. The ruins outside are pretty incredible.

All archeological sites in Mexico are exceptional! Now, taking care of all these places is not only responsibility of the people who work there, but of all citizens. In the same way, we have the responsibility of learn about them, and preserve them.
