Museo El Palacio - 24000 Campeche

The Palacio Central Cultural puts on a spectacular light and sound show depicting Campeche's history at 8 PM nightly. El Palacio Centro Cultural was a beautiful green-coloured historic arched building located on the north side of Campeche’s central plaza, on Calle 8 between Calles 55 and 57. Every evening at 8 PM, there is a spectacular light and sound show that is projected onto the historic arched building, lasting for around half an hour. It is completely free to watch and the best viewing spot is from the Parque Principal, directly across from the building. A variety of themes and images depict Campeche’s history, and it was fun, entertaining and interesting to watch. On my first evening in Campeche in November 2015, I just happened to be walking near the central park with some friends from my hostel, when this amazing light and sound show began. It was a unexpected but fantastic surprise! I stayed to watch the entire show, which lasted around 30 minutes or so and I am so glad that I stuck around. It was fantastic and entertaining and I had never seen anything like that before! I loved the show so much, that I came back to the Parque Principal on my second and final night in Campeche to watch it again. Even though this light and sound show happens every evening, there was a crowd of people (mostly locals) watching it each time I was there. I highly recommend watching this fantastic light and sound show in the evening in Campeche! It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen and it should definitely not be missed.

Beautiful historic place

Some rooms were closed, I'll recommend to have more translate d description as only the main ones are, is a great place to know about Campeche and its history. It has a great view and after, you can enjoy a coffee, at he shop connecting to it.

It is a lovely free museum with lots of information about Campeche and the industry of the time. Would definitely recommend!

Such an enjoyable place! You will learn a lot about Campeches's history. The models of the Spanish ships are fantastic. Plus they have art exhibits. Clear recommendation!
