About Museo Francisco Cossio
El Museo Francisco Cossío abrió sus puertas el 20 de noviembre de 1970 con el nombre de Casa de la Cultura de San Luis Potosí, ubicada en la otrora quinta “Vista Hermosa”, propiedad del historiador Joaquín Meade. La mansión de tipo palladiano se construyó entre 1919 y 1922 a imitación de una villa italiana o inglesa. Edificada en cantera rosa con paramentos blancos, destaca por la circunvalación de los jardines, los cuales hacen de ese conjunto arquitectónico uno de los más armoniosos de la ciudad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un Museo de calidad, tanto en estética como en el nivel de las piezas y exposiciones que presentan. Muy recomendado para aprovechar el tiempo observando y aprendiendo del pasado, en un lugar muy acogedor, a primera impresión sintiendo que estás en una casa. Los días martes la entrada es gratuita, lo único que no me encantó es que cobran por tomar fotografías, por lo que no pude tomar ninguna más que en la parte de afuera y los baños. El museo ofrece recorridos a través de un gran número de salas en las que se pueden apreciar distintos tipos de obra, así como también salas que se encuentran en constante actualización, sin olvidar la variedad de eventos de interés cultural. Recomiendo consultar los programas mensuales del Museo, así como seguirlos en sus redes sociales para no perderse ningún evento.
A museum of quality, both in aesthetics and in the level of the pieces and exhibitions they present. Highly recommended to take advantage of the time observing and learning from the past, in a very cozy place, at first impression feeling that you are in a home. On Tuesdays the entrance is free, the only thing that I did not love is that they charge for taking pictures, so I could not take any more than in the outside and the bathrooms. The museum offers tours through a large number of rooms in which you can see different types of work, as well as rooms that are constantly updated, without forgetting the variety of events of cultural interest. I recommend consulting the monthly programs of the Museum, as well as following them on their social networks so as not to miss any event.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty amazing place. Found myself here by chance and there are all sorts of amazing things to see. What a hidden gem. Just be careful, in the back is an empty pool that my toddler accidentally found, glad I caught him as he could have fallen in. Can't wait to come back to visit.
