Vale mucho la pena la visita. Altamente recomendado. A good place to acquire knowledge about the city. The people who gave us the tour very kind and gave us a very detailed explanation. It is well worth the visit. Highly recommended.

Bustos, fue uno de los pintores más apreciados del arte mexicano del siglo XIX. Su obra se caracteriza por no seguir un método académico y por tener una gran fuerza psicológica. En sus salas principales se muestra la obra pictórica de Hermenegildo Bustos, así como las máscaras que también elaboró este artista purimense para la representación de "La Judea", escenificación que relata la aprehensión de Jesús s través de Judas Iscariote. El inmueble que ocupa el museo, lo integran construcciones de 1862 de corte neoclásico por la austeridad de sus espacios y de 1938 en donde se impone la arquitectura de estilo neocolonial, oficial del México post revolucionario. The Hermenegildo Bustos Museum awaits you with open doors in the municipality of Purísima del Rincón, which was installed in honor of the great artist who was born in this same city in 1832. Bustos was one of the most appreciated painters of 19th century Mexican art. His work is characterized by not following an academic method and having great psychological strength. In its main rooms the pictorial work of Hermenegildo Bustos is displayed, as well as the masks that this Purimense artist also produced for the representation of "La Judea", a staging that recounts the apprehension of Jesus through Judas Iscariot. The building that the museum occupies is made up of constructions from 1862 of a neoclassical style due to the austerity of its spaces and from 1938 where the neocolonial style architecture, official of post-revolutionary Mexico, prevails.

Con exposiciones de Hermenegildo Bustos y otros autores Tiene una sala donde proyectan parte de sus fiestas tradicionales "La Judea". Los ex-votos, piezas sacras, retratos y artesanías; esculturas de José Chávez Morado, Hermenegildo Bustos y otros hacen una experiencia de apreciación artística magnífica. Ojalá el INBA y el INAH lean está reseña y reflexionen en apoyar todo al trabajo bien logrado de quienes nos atendieron ahí. Oscar y Tavares magníficos guías, preparados y cultos pero principalmente reflejando amor por su acervo, su cultura y su pueblo. I never thought that a small town like Purísima del Rincón had a museum with a magnificent collection. The ex-vows, sacred pieces, portraits and handicrafts; sculptures by José Chávez Morado, Hermenegildo Bustos and others make for a magnificent artistic appreciation experience. Hopefully INBA and INAH read this review and reflect on supporting the well-accomplished work of those who attended us there. Oscar and Tavares magnificent guides, prepared and educated but mainly reflecting love for their heritage, their culture and their people.

Mi único inconveniente con el museo es que hay algunas salas vacías. Las fotografías de Manuel Leal son buenísimas. Very good place, beautiful exhibitions and excellent explanations by the guide Oscar, his cultural and artistic knowledge is a complete treat, thank you for sharing your knowledge of the artists of Guanajuato. My only drawback with the museum is that there are some empty rooms. Manuel Leal's photographs are terrific.
