About Museo La Esquina del Juguete popular Mexicano
La Fundación y el Museo nacen en el año 2010 con la finalidad de revelar a México a través de su juguete, desde el principio, entre otros proyectos, se han realizado siete ediciones del Concurso Nacional del Juguete Popular Mexicano, cuya atención ha sido de 3,400 artesanos con cuyas obras se han montado 28 exposiciones para divulgar dentro y fuera del Municipio y del Estado de Guanajuato el patrimonio reunido.
Así mismo el Museo ha participado directamente o en coordinación con los autores, en la edición de 5 publicaciones con las editoriales Artes de México, Vaso Roto, FONCA para creadores y Programa PACMYC. Especialistas del Museo y la propia Maestra Angélica, han dictado pláticas y conferencias en diversos foros de divulgación cultural en Guanajuato y en otros Estados del País.
La Fundación a través del Museo y la Tienda asesoran a los artesanos en aspectos básicos de su producción, mejoría de calidad, diseño de producto y costos, los vincula al mercado proporcionándoles las herramientas de negociación y venta con la intención de que obtengan más ingresos económicos que coadyuven a mejorar su nivel de vida.
Para el sector infantil, hemos ejecutado cursos y creación de juguetes con técnicas y materiales tradicionales y reciclados, lo que ha significado estímulo para recuperar desde la infancia los juguetes y juegos populares. Proceso en el que también se involucran los educandos y padres de familia. En cuatro años de existencia a través del “Programa Aprehendiendo Mí Cultura”, hemos atendido a alumnos de jardín de niños, primaria y secundaria de comunidades rurales del Municipio de San Miguel de Allende.
El Proyecto “Museo Itinerante”, La Esquina se va de viaje a las Comunidades de San Miguel de Allende, se ejecuto en el año 2016 en coinversión con IDESOL y la Fundación, con él se visitaron escuelas de comunidades del Municipio de San Miguel de Allende, instalando el Museo en su propia comunidad.
A diez años de historia, nos sentimos optimistas del futuro de nuestra institución, no es una tarea fácil, pero estamos seguros de que sembraremos la semilla para la salvaguarda de nuestra cultura y tradiciones populares.

This is a beautiful museum devoted entirely to Mexican toys and action figures. The section featuring Luche Libre, Mexico's professional wrestling pastime was exceptional. Young people will love all of the dolls, masks, toys and exhibits. Plan to spend at least 90 minutes here in order to take it all in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful collection of Mexican local art. Its much better to take an accompanied tour sincs you can miss a lot of info if you do not read the hanging signs. The galleries and collection is changing and they also have events. Do not miss the terrace at the very top, its hidden on the right side of the rooftop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a lovely museum to walk around and would highly recommend to everyone even without children. So many old fashioned, Mexican toys to see. We had young children (1&3 yrs) and they were a little too young to understand they weren’t allowed to touch everything. There is a small area with some toys in to play with, which they loved. Very inexpensive to enter, 40 peso each. Children under 5 free. Fantastic collection.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can't touch anything ... it is a museum after all ... but it had seven floors of hand made toys. I was especially mesmerized but some of the details on the miniature doll houses, cars, etc. For the $2.50 entrance fee, definitely worth spending an hour wandering around the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice slice of history through handmade Mexican toys (dolls, models, and so on). The ground floor has QR codes with good bilingual explanations of them. I wish the gift shop had some more interesting toys and crafts to buy.
