About Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos
Los primeros fondos documentales relacionados con los ferrocarriles mexicanos llegaron al Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos (MNFM) en 1988.
En 1995, con la política de reestructuración de Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México y la concesión de líneas y servicios a particulares, la dirección de los Nacionales de México aprobó y financió el Programa Nacional de Rescate del Patrimonio Histórico, Artístico y Cultural de los Ferrocarriles Nacionales (PRONARE) y dos años más tarde, en julio de 1997, la dirección del Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos inauguró las instalaciones del Centro de Documentación e Investigación Ferroviarias, CEDIF, lugar en el que se concentraron los acervos documentales generados por los ferrocarriles.
En 2001, el Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos pasó a formar parte del Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, instancia que creó al Centro Nacional para la Preservación del Patrimonio Cultural Ferrocarrilero, CNPPCF. A partir de ese año el CONACULTA a través del CNPPCF promueve el rescate, conservación, preservación y difusión del patrimonio ferroviario mexicano.
En el 2002, la Dirección del CNPPCF creó la Subdirección de Investigación y Estudios Culturales a la cual quedó adscrita el Centro de Documentación e Investigación Ferroviarias, (CEDIF).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful and clean place for such a small price (15$). In my opinion they should increase the entrance price in order to take more care of these beautiful machines. It is also a modern art expo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had an amazing time visiting this museum. Great collection, well maintained and with quality information about many aspects of railways in Mexico. Really loved it. Apart from the paranoid Covid protocol which is medieval... Nowhere in the world but Mexico these measures are applied and I suspect that it is not because Mexicans know something the rest of the world is unaware of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was one of the most interesting museum in Puebla whether you're into trains or not. They have a very wide variety of old trains and the history behind it. The staff were friendly and explained the history. You can enter in most of the trains and feel as if it's a time machine going back to the past.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bargain at 16 pesos. There are some rare gems not found in many places in North America. However, only about half of their collection is accessible to the public. And of the other half maybe a half dozen total coaches are open for viewing. This museum has great potential but I suspicion a lack of funding inhibits any kind of upgrades. It was still nice to walk through.

I wish I had had more time to check all of the cars, as some of them were busy/closed at the time I visited.
Overall, a nice experience.
