★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting free museum with comprehensive data about Yucatan/Valladolid region. The information is oriented maybe to Mexican citizens with some knowledge on the history of the country. Nevertheless, it is a good experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a quaint museum in Vallidolid that houses history about the area, with a number of displays and archeological pieces. The museum is free and close to the zocalo, so despite the descriptions only being in Spanish it is worth a brief visit. There is even a small garden to sit in. The boy at the desk will ask you to fill out a register (name/country etc)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small informative museum. Has a nice garden as well. Most information plaques are in Spanish. Part of the free night tour available at the information centre in the main plaza.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Templo San Roque itself, was the highlight of my visit to the Museum of Valladolid which is housed inside. The former church and convent served many functions over the centuries. Exhibits briefly cover the history of the region and the city. It's worth a quick look. Admission is free. There's a nice garden area out back, which is accessible from the street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small, free, and in an old church. The church yard is also quite lovely and was completely empty when I visited.
That said, if you don't speak spanish, you won't be able to understand the material on display - there's no enlish here except for the introductory panel outside the front door.
Excellent job addressing Mayan and colonial history, and where that leaves us now.
