Tengan cuidado con los seguros de ‘cobertura total’ que por supuesto tienen letras chiquitas, como que no cubren daños a las llantas, que dicho sea de paso, son muy viejas (100 mil kilómetros) y cualquier desperfecto a la llanta, lo pagarás caro. Básicamente los clientes están pagándole las llantas nuevas al auto.
The cars are very old. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m very cynical about car rental companies having been stung once by an Italian car rental company. Mexico is a place where insurance cover is pretty much essential so I took care to choose a provider here.
I booked through Rentalcars (part of booking.com) and paid for their insurance package as it was cheaper than booking directly through National.
Picking the car up was fine. The office is located on the second floor of a small shopping complex and Juan Carlos - the man who worked there - was extremely helpful, pleasant and most importantly didn’t try to push their own insurance products. He appears to be the main worker in that office so I would definitely rent from these guys again.
The pickup process was easy, we checked the car and exchanged papers etc. We returned the car and a quick check over by JC was all that was required. No dishonest attempts at making money - just good service.
I wanted to write a long review as I know it’s hard to find a good company to rent from.
