★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The price by booking directly was almost a steal. When I booked through the American National Car website, it was $40 a day (which is a good price actually) but when I checked the Mexican site, it was $40 for my entire 3 day rental. I noticed this when I rented from National in Thailand too.
The shuttle was quick and super friendly. They even offered to pick up my friend whose flight came in an hour after mine.
The service at the desk was quick and friendly as well. Not too pushy and had all of the information.
I would rent from them again if needed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! These guys are running a RIP OFF SCAM!
Upon renting the vehicle they informed me that if I parked in a yellow painted curb I would be subject to a ticket and my front license plate would be removed which of course would generate a "Fee". Well, despite being extremely careful of where I parked I noticed that my front plate went missing, screws in place. I must mention that at no time did I receive or find a ticket on my windshield which I was informed by government officials I should have received, nor did I ever park illegally.
I, as a tourist and to their National/Enterprise Car Rental's surprise, decided to investigate and try to locate my plate in the appropriate government offices. I was in the state of Jalisco in and around Puerto Vallarta when I noticed the plate missing so I went to the main Transportation Department which handles infractions/tickets and the collection of payment. I was informed that not only do they NO LONGER perform the practice of removing front license plates in the state of Jalisco but they also ran the plate number and there was nothing in the system.
I proceeded to do the same in the in the state of Nayarit. The removal of plates is still practiced in this state and I did spend one day in the area of Bucerias. I located the office that collects plates and takes payment for that region and once again found no record of ever receiving an infraction/ticket.
National/Enterprise has charged an additional +/- $150.00 dollars to the cost of the rental and am now trying to contact SOLEDAD, who told me she would reach out to me as soon as she found anything out regarding the plates and of course she will not answer nor return my call.
I stayed at a property in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit and asked for advise/direction from one of the valet attendants who I developed a good repour with during our stay. He informed me that it is common that Car Rental Agents have connections with valet or check in agents at hotels/resorts that keep an eye out for rental vehicles and will remove plates and take them to the rental agency for a monetary kick back.
National Car Rental never expected a tourist to do their due diligence. I have yet to receive a refund, a ticket/infraction number, the name of the agency who issued the ticket/infraction, phone number of issuing agency or an exact amount of the fine.
I will definitely NEVER, EVER use National/Enterprise when traveling which I have always stuck to because they are perceived to be the premium agency when traveling. I have also rented from them almost exclusively in the US as well for business and If this doesn't get rectified I will take sever that relationship as well.
I urge you find another rental car supplier because this one is despicable!
In closing, I selected one star because I cannot post a "0" star review, which is what these thieves deserve.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid at all costs! I declined all third party insurance because I have my own through Chase Sapphire Preferred. My original quote was $227.65 but I was charged $503.71 total at drop-off, with the rest being for “mandatory” insurance.
This place is an absolute scam, just look at all the other reviews on Google and Yelp mentioning the same thing. The supervisor Soledad Sanchez is a thief and refuses to do anything about it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time was very good. Zero issues. Second time they tried to up sell everything and then handed me off to a timeshare salesman before getting the car. Probably will not be using them again. Took at least 30 minutes to get out of there with the car.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stay away!!!! They are a rip off! Get quotes from other places before committing... I always get two-three quotes from other rental places before signing. You can do this at the airport. This place tried to rip me off twice for the same car/same insurance coverage. They will try to confuse you as to the insurance required in Mexico. Last year, I was told if I cancelled the reservation and the insurance (I reserved online) they will sell it to me way cheaper than what I paid online. This time they wanted to charge me $9,000 for the rental. I went somewhere else and got it for $6,000. Another location offered me the same deal $6,000 too. I had to return the car at this location due to the proximity to the airport. While checking out I was told I owed more money than what I was told initially at the other place. I told the guy nope!!! You better check again because ain’t paying extra. He didn’t even look at his screen when he said “oh that’s right.” Definitely do not, will not recomend this place!!!! Run if you can!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Corrupt and predatory! I had high expectations from good brands like Enterprise, unfortunately their business practices in Mexico are deceiving, predatory and corrupt. They will post rental prices at one rate and will double the price upon arrival. If MX insurance is required to obtain a rental, they should fully disclose the cost in the rental price. They will try to take advantage of you by requiring to pay the extra cost when you are there for pickup or leave you stranded. Other car rental companies do the same. Avoid them if you can, their corrupt business practices must STOP. Complete full disclosure of all costs must be quoted at the time of making the reservation and not change with "required" fees at the time of pickup regardless of the outlet used to make the reservation.
