★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Su nombre original es "Real Academia de San Carlos de las Nobles Artes de la Nueva España" fundada así en 1781, por autorización del Rey Carlos II a petición de las autoridades de la Nueva España, quienes veían en la Ciudad de México una oportunidad muy grande para desarrollar las artes gráficas, especialmente el grabado para mejorar la producción de monedas. Sin embargo, su evolución la convirtió en la principal casa de estudios de Arquitectura, Pintura y Escultura en la Nueva España. Hoy es parte de la UNAM y contiene instalaciones de la División de Estudios de Posgrado de la Facultad de Artes y Diseño.
Its original name is "Royal Academy of San Carlos of the Noble Arts of New Spain" founded in 1781, by authorization of King Carlos II at the request of the authorities of New Spain, who saw in Mexico City an opportunity very Great for developing graphic arts, especially engraving to improve coin production. However, its evolution made it the main architecture, painting and sculpture study house in New Spain. Today it is part of the UNAM and contains facilities of the Graduate Studies Division of the Faculty of Arts and Design.

I loved the staff is very friendly and attentive, the facilities are very clean, I loved the museum even though it made me small you run it very fast but it is worth it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building is amazing, has a lot of history inside... Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Rufino Tamayo, Kati Horna and so on left their energy around the imponent building. I studied there a Master Degree in Photography and a PhD in Documentary Film.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Free, exhibit upstairs has cool statues. They need signage telling you where you can and can’t go. Everything seemed to be under construction. I recommend if you are in the area. You can keep your backpack on you until you get to the small exhibit upstairs.
