Lo más notable es ver el nombre del arquitecto, mismo que fue alumno del colegio cuando sucedió la batalla del 13 de septiembre. En una de las superficies del obelisco aparece el nombre de Miguel Miramon, quien fuera presidente de México y en su momento fusilado junto a Maximiliano.
Allí Harry Truman dejó una ofrenda floral después de la 2da guerra mundial.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm an American Army Veteran and I visited CDMX this week. I want to thank every Mexican Soldier who is serving! I'd like to honor the sacrifice of the the Ninos Heroes. Mexico has a proud history and this is a good example of that. The Mexican American War was another complicated and maybe regretful part of our history. Today I hope we can see ourselves as neighbors, two counties, two friends. Dos Pais, Dos Amigos!
