★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Guided tour was excellent, allegedly this is not an observatory..... but none the less a very impressive structure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family and I visited Coba on 12/24/2020. We drove out from the home we were staying at in Puerto Morelos. It was about a 2 hour drive but not all that bad. Prior to visiting, I recommend either reading up on Coba in books or online. It will better prepare you for what you will see. I "studied" ahead of time which made the visit more enjoyable. Make sure you bring with you plenty of bottled water, snacks, sunscreen, AND bug repelent. Dress in light loose clothing with good walking shoes and wear a shade hat. It can be very warm and humid unlike the climate on the coast. It's best to arrive right when the park opens to avoid long lines that form up when the tour busses arrive! We opted to hire a tour guide, which I recommend, but most guides only work the front half of the park. The guide talk was a good "intro". There are bikes you can rent if you don't want to walk or Coba "Taxis" that will take you into the outer areas of the park. If you are in relatively good shape, I recommend walking for a better experience! Due to Covid restrictions, the pyramids were not open for climbing up. It didn't matter to me though. They are SPECTACULAR to see! Unlike a "museum" that have things roped off, you can go right up to the ruins and touch them but please be respectful of those ruins that are roped off and be considerate and careful with anything you touch. My family walked the entire park in about 2 hours. Stay on the well marked walking/biking trails for your own protection and safety. WELL worth visiting!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible day at the Coba ruins. We did a 2 hour guided tour that was really informative. If you are on a tour,, I recommend you rent a bike or hire a driver as it is hard to see everything if you walk

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have bicycles for rent on site. About $4 USD or like $3 worth in USD if you pay in pesos. I recommend renting the bicycles. They were so much fun to ride around the site. We felt like kids again. Its a bit bumpy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's an archaeological site so.... breathtaking.
Once you arrive on site and pay the entrance there are bikes for rent I think the conversions like $3-5. Do it!!! The heat and humidity even at 9am when I got there was present. With the bikes your most likely done with the site in an hour.
If you can't bike and don't want to walk you can pay a "taxi" which is a guy with a bicycle with an attached seat that can bike you around we had our senior mother so that.
