I had an amazing stay here with my boyfriend. We stayed 1 week. Their service and food is really good. People here are very generous and helpful. Their entertainment shows were amazing! Would highly recommend this resort !! Thank you and we would come back here again :)

Rooms were nice, beds comfy. Buffet food okay. Italian restaurant was great. Great pool bartender.very fun. Nice beach and volleyball court, great location. Needing repair- shower leaked by door a lot. Curtains were torn and needed replacing on ends. Overall, happy with stay. 3.5 stars.. I would go back.

Occidental was great. Overall it's a well maintained resort with a more laid back, calm vibe. The pros: - Breakfast buffet was excellent - Beautifully maintained grounds - Beach area with palm tree shade was a great all day hangout spot with drink service - Overall the food in general is good - The entrance to the resort is immaculately maintained and beautiful The cons: - Servers seemed overworked and irritated at times, seemed like they needed more servers in the buffet - Room needed work, toilet was kind of messed up - Check in was a nightmare, they have switched locks on several rooms so the keys don't work properly, we had to walk a quarter mile back to the desk 3 times to get a key that worked, which is incredibly irritating after a day of travel. - Overall communication of the staff seemed poor, based on our experience trying to check in

Food: No Good at all Enchilada in Mexican restaurant are sweet like with chocolate sauce. Rice in 1 Oz. Of cup and only one tea spoon. Beans is one table spoon full of brown liquid. Drinks are lower quality of alcohol. (What do you expect for All inclusive !!!) I forgot my cap in restaurant and no body turn it in to front desk. MOST IMPORTANT: My TV was not working so repair men was replacing my TV as I was going out for dinner . They told me that don't worry we will take care of it. Next morning I put my password to open in room safe and instead it says "close" ( I knew I close safe last night) So I got suspicious and I open my safe ...come to find out One $20 and One $10 bill was missing from my wallet. Maintenance people know master password to open any Hotel safe. I reported to security but no help . we checked out next morning and stayed at Marriott. I donot recommend this Occidental Hotel to any one.

Overall my stay was fine. The staff were friendly, there were some meals where it felt like they forgot about you (searching to find someone to bring you water or clear your plates). You kind of have to figure out on your own how the dinner reservations work because it's not explained to you. The beach was great to walk on and things were close by. The pool was never busy so that was nice. Make sure to bring plenty of small bills! Covid testing was easy and right at the hotel.

This resort was pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. The service was great with great staff. The grounds itself weren't bad but maybe could use a little updating. That's not to say that anything looked bad at all. I would stay here again. Food was normal resort food so nothing stood out. Beachfront was really nice. Just a nice place to have a chill vacation

The staff truly make this place special. Everyone was /excellent/ but especially Irving and Irene. The food was great, drinks were great, the grounds were beautiful. The resort is on the smaller side which was really nice, not super noisy or rambunctious but just enough energy. A few things that weren’t deal breakers for us but might be for you: there are a few things that need to be fixed up like the bathroom door didn’t close properly and the shower was kinda leaky. There weren’t enough places to plug in your phone(s). The poolside bathrooms could use a few more cleans a day maybe. A coat of paint could truly turn this into something.

My boyfriend and I stayed here about 3 weeks ago! The resort is beautiful! The staff was super helpful and friendly. I loved the pool! The only rude worker I got was the hostess at the buffet who told me to cover my bikini top (I was literally on my way to the pool). I would say the only negative for me was that we couldn’t hang out with our friends in the lobby at night because the hotel security would kick us out. I know it is a family resort, but I feel that if you’re a young couple with no kids, this resort doesn’t cater to our group. I definitely will pick an adults only resort next time. Otherwise, beautiful resort and I enjoyed my stay!
