Ocean Grill Vallarta - 48292 Boca de Tomatlán

Amazing describes the setting, service and quality of food you will receive by checking out this creative dinning spot on the bay. Our group of 6 hiked from Boca to the restaurant via the trail. The route is well-marked and the trail falls into the moderate range in terms of terrain and hiker ability. Figure on 30 mins for the hike unless you stop to take in the scenery. After lunch we opted for the short but scenic boat trip back to Boca. The setting is eclectic with the seating perched on a rock cliff overlooking the waters. The food is fresh, tasty, and all served by very friendly staff who genuinely appreciate your business. A great time was had by all. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips to PV.

Different experience. However ...although we were told we had a two hour window to eat, last call was announced during our meal. Then, we just had walked to the beach only to be told to come back immediately. "Last" water taxi came 90 minutes after dropping us off. And, after being asked about special occassions, we were celebrating FOUR birthdays, they did nothing! Overall food was good but not the best meal we've had for the price. Very rushed, pretty disappointing. No need for us to return.

Gotta say I loved this place… I will go back again and again. It’s such an experience. The boat ride.. the dogs.. the outstanding cocktails… the BBQ food (that was unexpected) and the washroom.. yup.. worth the visit for the toilet experience. Then there is the view.. the super duper amazing view! I’ve traveled the world and had so many amazing experiences… this is in the top 10… make it a days experience. Thanks team OGV. We took the boat but we’be done the hike from Boca twice… last 200 ft are dangerous.. but it’s a fun hike if you’re up for it!

Ocean Grill is an amazing restaurant. The views are spectacular. I loved my meal and definitely thought it was worth the price, although the beef prices were especially high and we avoided those. The drinks were excellent as well. This is an excellent place to have a special meal. The only issue we had was that it can be tricky to get back to Puerto Vallarta. Consider organizing a ride to Los Muertos Pier with fellow diners.

It’s not how it’s advertised, private beach is not private as they advertise, anyone and everyone not even attending the restaurant was there. We sat in boat for over 30 minutes just to get off are private boat . Service was slow, and had to wave down the waiters several times to get our drinks. Appetizers were good the rest terrible and over priced. I personally ordered the slow cooked ribs. I got one large rib with over a inch of fat and no meat. A slice of bacon would have more meat on it. As for the jumbo shrimp, be prepared you get 4. So you will have to go eat after you leave this place for sure. Party of 6 and only one person was ok with her over cooked fish. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If someone gave this place a good review they must know the owners. Terrible

This is our 4th lunch at Ocean Grill, one of our favorite destinations when we are visiting PV. This is quite the lunch excursion, taxi to water taxi to dock and then a good meal in a beautiful location. We started with the fresh guacamole and tuna apps. Not a lot of vegetarian options, since it is a seafood restaurant. The quinoa veggie burger is about it. Tom Sr. Enjoyed the Octopus, Tom Jr. loved the catch of the day, Mahi Mahi. Brenda enjoyed the very large shrimp. We all had plenty to drink, there is a large cocktail selection. This visit we did notice some changes, there seems to be a movement toward more of a commercial operation targeting the larger groups and a permanent menu. There was two large groups during this visit who kept the staff busy so a couple of items were missed during our orders, also very slow response from the waiter. Not the same as our earlier visits, a little disappointed. Hopefully it will all get worked out.

Over-priced relative to Le Kliff, but a great experience overall. The food is good, although they were out of many items when we visited. The hike is challenging but fun, and a few hours at Colomitos beach before your reservation will make for a great day.

Stunning view, not great food for the price you pay! Our party of 6 arrived at the Boca de Tomatlan boat port, about 20 min before our reservation time (1:00). The Ocean Grill boat taxi is purple. Don’t stress about thinking your not getting on the boat, they may have to take a group and come back for another. The boat ride to the restaurant is not long at all (10min). When you arrive, the restaurant is perched on the side of a small mountain next to a cove with a very small beach, that you can get to by walking (very cautiously) on the locals make shift board walk. The restaurant itself is beautiful and worth the trip just to experience the views! The food and service however did not meet our expectations. Our waiter informed us that they were out of oysters before we place our order, however after we put in our order, we were told that they ran out of octopus. Very disappointing after you have set your mind on something. I felt the waiter should have apologized, but nope, no apology. We also had to wave him down several times to ask for certain things....serving sizes were very small and pricey. In all it was a decent experience, but could have been so much better if they would change a few things. They also need another toilet! One bathroom for everyone there, so make sure U don’t wait until last minute or you’ll have to wait on the boat to come back!
