Ocean Riviera - Playa del Carmen

There is a reason that the price is low. If you have high expectations, do not book this resort. You only get what you pay for, unfortunately.

Poor food, check in lines ridiculously slow.

Good times, good food great company.

The place is great but the rooms are a DUMP.the food is the same every day and not much to do.live music at night is good. I personally will never visit this place again.

Despite the challenging situation with seaweed and some air conditioning issues it was still a nice resort, this is very fun nightly shows and very nice friendly staff.

The buffet isnt the best and it closes very early. The phones never work and the lines are always getting cut off. The lights would turn off for a good 30 minutes then randomly turn on. The roof was leaking water all over the toilet. The TV remote didnt work and we had to sleep with the loud tv on all night. The rooms werent cold and had so much humidity.

Overall, the place is nice and clean. I wouldn't come back to this place though. When it comes to the bartenders, they are nice and willing to help you and serve you any drinks you want. When it comes to serving you in the Buffet area, that's another story.... they won't come to you and ask if you need/want anything. Basically you have to ask and wait until they decide to come and serve you. They weren't rude, just not very thoughtful. Rooms are kept clean daily. Good thing. The wildlife here is very pretty and my daughters enjoyed the animals. I'm not so picky but overall, I feel like the attention to the customers need to be a little better. Maybe I'm just used to the Dominican Republic. The food at the buffet was good, not amazing though. The Mexican and Steak place were great but the wait for the food was long. If I could choose to come back to Playa del Carmen, I will definitely try a different place.

Food has been so, so and the house keeping either doesn't leave new clean towels or doesn't refill the water and coffee supplies. I'm not in the most expensive part of this resort but that kind of service should be the same across the board. Also litter everywhere, no grounds keeping people around to clean up garbage and face masks are everywhere...so gross. Excursions are amazing and super accommodating.
