★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The drinks are kinda perfect! Food was great, and I really recommend you try the hottest salsa, which is some kind of black tar of frightening but exciting burning sensation! And who in their right mind can resist 2 for 1 happy hour? Actually, who in their wrong mind can resist that? Our server, Remix, was personable and speedy, and is the reason I am writing this review. Thanks, Remix! You should come visit New Orleans!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend this Isla restaurant! I had the coconut shrimp with mango salsa and it was fantastic! So many flavors! My husband had the brisket tacos with rice and beans and it was very flavorful as well! There are many margarita options and our server, Alfonzo, was very helpful in explaining the menu and margarita options! And the warm churros!!! Wow!!! The atmosphere is very laid back and relaxing! We will be back for sure! Thanks to Alfonzo and the chef! Well done!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SCAMMER SERVERS HERE!! Eat at your own risk!! Server neglected to mention that their credit card machine was “broken” and served us a bill for over 2500 pesos with note saying “sorry, cash only”! Had we known that before ordering, we would have not eaten there. My husband was left scrambling to find ATM machine and we didn’t have a debit card with us. We were looking for any way to pay at 10pm at night other than credit card .. after an hour of letting us sweat it out, server burrows credit machine from neighboring restaurant and we were finally able to get paid up and the hell out of there. Really?? My husband left his nice sun hat (was $80 dollar hat) at the table and when we came back for it next day, the restaurant manager couldn’t find it. We’re sure that the same scammer servers stole it. Watch out for this place and always ask before ordering if they accept credit cards or if cash only. Learn from our experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is great no word to describe. Alphonso was more helpful and took a challenge on his food and it was good and he won the challenge. It is a good one like to visit again. Even worth paying again for the ferry to enjoy this food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best margarita I ever had. The spicy salt was amazing I wish I could’ve taken a box of it to go. The fajitas were also really good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What drew us to this restaurant was that no one was hawking us to come into the restaurant ? Being called into a restaurant, makes me purposefully not want to go in. But here we could comfortably look at the menu without anyone calling out "Hello, welcome, speak English?" etc etc. When I was looking at the menu, I didn't even know I was standing next to the manager.
The manager made a small comment that their fish of the day is really good. He was down to earth and we could ask some questions about the menu before committing to being seated.
Decent food:
We decided to go for the fish tacos (it a grupper fish, along with cilantro rice & beans, and a mayo dressing) and the beef tacos (which also came with cilantro rice & beans, and salsa Rojo). On the menu it said the fish tacos should come with peanut something, but it didn't. And I ordered a litchitini which said should come with cranberry juice, but there was no cranberry. So just be prepared that your food or drink doesn't come exactly as explained in the menu. Or be more diligent than me and ask about what you are ordering. The food was okay, nothing spectacular.
Good margaritas & cocktails:
These were the most delicious and unique margaritas we have had on our trip to the Quintana Roo. We tried a margarita al pastor and margarita with peach & Chipotle, which were spicy and delicious. (the AL pastor margarita was my favorite) I ordered the litchitini which was very delicious (although not fresh litchi/lychee) and a cocktail with gin & grapefruit fruit, with toasted sprig of thyme. There were a couple of more exciting ingredients in the gin cocktail, but I didn't really notice them. But nonetheless, we were very satisfied with our drinks.
Good atmosphere:
We noticed/heard three groups of couples that had returned to this restaurant. So many other couples have been pleased with the experience of the food, so maybe you will too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 6/1/22 Alfonso was so helpful in determining our choice of food. Brisket tacos (small shell) were good but hard to fill me is. The margaritas are excellent but have a lot of ice. We did come for lunch (happy hour) so 2 for 1 wasn’t bad. My wife had coconut shrimp which she said was one of the most delicious she has ever tasted; the mango sauce on top killed it! Great atmosphere and great food! Then right when we were about to leave Alberto came and surprised us with three churros! Ways to put the nail in the coffin Alberto to make us customers for life!
6/3/22 This is our new favorite hotspot! Their peach margaritas are to die for. My wife had shrimp tacos and there were four shrimps per taco and I had shrimp fettuccine and I could barely finish it. Pepe, the manager, is a delight and he will recommend his best options off the menu. We also had crabcakes with pineapple sauce which was also delicious.
