San Miguel del Valle es una pequeña comunidad ubicada a los pies de la Sierra Juárez en donde es posible apreciar una comunidad zapoteca con tradiciones vivas que le apuestan al ecoturismo como opción de desarrollo económico para la comunidad, ya que cuentan con una diversidad de ecosistemas ideal para la observación de aves, el senderismo y la bicicleta de montaña.
Gran parte de la población masculina ha migrado a los Estados Unidos y muchos de ellos hablan ingles perfectamente, otra de las actividades que podrán encontrar aquí es la elaboración de artesanías como tapetes de lana y mandiles de algodón.
Es importante decir que la gran mayoría siembra su milpa y cuentan con un gradiente altitudinal que les permite realizar varias cosechas al año de maíz, papa, frijol, calabaza, trigo, etc.
Cuentan con unas cabañas y unos miradores de primer mundo en las que rescatan la arquitectura vernácula y utilizan materiales de la región junto con las nuevas tecnologías.
Lo recomiendo ampliamente, mi ruta favorita es la de Cueva-iglesia.

San Miguel del Valle is a small community located at the foot of the Sierra Juárez where it is possible to appreciate a Zapotec community with living traditions that bet on ecotourism as an option of economic development for the community, since they have an ideal ecosystem diversity for bird watching, hiking and mountain biking.
A large part of the male population has migrated to the United States and many of them speak English perfectly, another of the activities you can find here is the development of handicrafts such as wool rugs and cotton aprons.
It is important to say that the vast majority plant their cornfield and have an altitudinal gradient that allows them to make several crops a year of corn, potatoes, beans, squash, wheat, etc.
They have cabins and first-world viewpoints where they rescue vernacular architecture and use materials from the region along with new technologies.
I highly recommend it, my favorite route is the Cave-church.
