Optica Milenium Ajijic - 45920 Ajijic

I have used Dr Pinto two times. Dr Pinto is NOT affiliated with "Optica Milenium Ajijic" they only share office space! One time in 2014 at his old office. Back then he was very good and had fast service all be it two times more expensive than any place else. (Also used a different lab) BUT. Nov 29th 2018 (at his new office) I get an eye exam for 3 pair of glasses. Reading, computer and driving. Dr Pinto is still a GREAT Dr but the woman that works at the counter and the lab they use are below par. WAY BELOW PAR! I was able to order 2 pair of glasses from them. Reading and Computer for a total of $5,000 Peso ($2,500 each) 100% Pesos up front. They said the glasses would be back in one week. I then went to the optometrist in Chapala on the main road to get my driving glasses. He had them in 2 days cost $1,100 Pesos. I go back 1 week later to Pinto and they have only one pair of glass, my computer glasses. They said the other pair would be tomorrow. (Now we start the Menana game) I take the glasses home and in 5 days the lens pops out 3 times and gets scratched. I take them back to get fixed and pick up my other glasses. They said not yet but tomorrow. I asked about paying extra for the "Scratch resistant glass" $2,500 for one par. She said oh must of scratched when the lens popped out. You think? As it turned out she gave me plastic lenses and not the Polycarbonate that I had payed for. Thus she pocketed the difference in cost. That is not superposed to happen. That was about Dec 14th. We call daily to see if the glasses come in and as usual we get "Menana". I talked to the Dr this time he said "The glasses came last week but were made wrong so we sent them back!" I told him your receptionist told me they never come. The receptionist just stopped answering the phone after that, when we called. Now we are to today Dec 21st 2018 a full 3 weeks from the time of order. The receptionist just stopped answering the phone when we called even though she always said Menana. I drive to Dr Pinto's office and he's gone for Christmas out of country his receptionist said. She said the glasses will be in sometime but she don't know when. She told me they both came in but both were made wrong! (WTF?) Now a total of 3 times made wrong? Neither pair where there. Well next week is Christmas then we have New Years so I am looking at getting them MAYBE in January 15th to 25th or so. 1 1/2 months after the order. I asked for my money back and she said there is no money in the store! I asked her to call the doctor she said he is "Out of country!" (Even though my wife just spoke to him 1/2 hour before.) So I said if you don't have the glasses and your telling me you have no money I will have to call the police to make a report! She said no, no police! Here I give you your money back. The lesson I learned is this...... #1 go someplace else! #2 NEVER give 100% of the money up front. #3 do not let them play the Menana game for 3 weeks at a time! Go to the man on the main road in Chapala just North of the Plaza East side of the road. Eye exam and glasses as low as $800 Pesos and only 2 days for them to be in your hands.

Last year I went in for an eye exam and I told her I had a very challenging eyes to test accurately because of multiple problems and each one being different. She was a very young woman who seemed inexperienced and then the eye machine was not even working and she was going to try to do something manually, which seemed really primitive. I said forget it and walked out. Unprofessional and seemed like the results would be highly unreliable.
