Osteria Piccoli - 97125 Mérida

My food was not even similar to menu listing, when I mentioned to staff they asked how did it taste. It tasted like it was missing 7 ingredients and not what I ordered! I will not be returning.

Piccoli a breath of fresh air in a small strip mall off Paseo de Montejo, not far from the central part of Merida. It's a small, welcoming place decorated to conjure an imagined destination in Italy. Pastas, pizzas, and a wide variety of house specials make the menu exciting. The staff is courteous, don't be surprised if you meet the owner. The efficient kitchen makes sure you don't wait long for your food. The place always smells delicious. The last time I was there I got a spaghetti dish that was excellent. About $200 pesos. The only thing that keeps me from posting Piccoli as a 5 is that I asked if I could have half an order of one of their great salads, or if they would be willing to make me a small side salad. The waiter did not waste a minute telling me that ordering a side salad was not an option. He was more interested in trying to sell me one of their larger more expensive salads than in pleasing me. It didn't make me mad enough that I would decide not to return, but that kind of resistance to a customer's request seemed unnecessary. Check out their amazing menu, come prepared to spend from 300 to 500 pesos for a full meal. The food is worth it!

Food portions are good and have a decent variety of classic Italian food, the restaurants decor and furniture look from the 80’s

Food and service are consistently excellent. A large variety of selections. The servers are very outgoing and attentive. Very busy in a Sunday afternoon .

Good atmosphere. Excellent service; the waiter was attentive without being over-bearing. We were served some delicious bread rolls while we were reading the menu. The pastas were reasonably well priced and absolutely delicious and the wine was good value. A lovely evening!

Favorite Italian in Merida. We have tried many places and this still remains our favorite. Only complaint is that they get a option by the glass wine. Usually only have one brand. Service is good. Bathroom always clean.
