This place is epic. I am so glad that I got to stay here. Beautiful, peaceful, expansive retreat center with a private cenote in the center.

You simply can't find a place like this in the whole world!!!Nothing compares to this sacred circle!It's a place to go whoever you may be and whatsoever you are doing THIS is the thing you are looking for. The paradise, the final point. Ozen cocom is the place of truth....It does not exist for money, for fame or for any other stupid reasons. The rich beautiful and juicy place is only here to bring the light to the world, to share the positive energy. It's abounding with activities and arts full of life and young creative people!

This is very beautiful and secluded ashram in the dense Mexican jungle. It is built around a deep senote in a circular configuration using the chakras as shapes for the design. It is lush and amazing. Their art is placed throughout the compound giving it a sense of sacred space and the people who run the Ashram are beaming with love and service! Most of the walk ways are elevated which makes it easier to get around. There are several meeting spaces that can accommodate a large group. The largest can easily fit 300 people and they are all equipped with sound systems. Caution: the reason I gave it a rating of 3 is that the meeting spaces and rooms are all tiled, so during the wet season they are very slippery. Also there are lots of plants that are not cut back from the walk ways so you will be moving them aside when going from space to space. There is no lighting on the walkways at night so you must have a bright lamp to light your way and there are places along the walkways that have tree features. This means that close to the tree trunk there are holes which you could fall into. It has happened. The rooms have no hooks to hang your wet clothing or towels on, so in the rainy season, nothing dries. There are lots of bugs and mosquitoes so bring enough repellent and make sure it is deet free otherwise customs will force you to throw it away. I stayed here during the wet season so my experience was a 3, but I'm sure if I had been here during the dry season it would've been a strong 4! I loved the staff! They are exceptional and the food was very well prepared, simple and served with loving smiles at every meal! Pro Tip: in the rainy season, bring a Pancho to stay dry and leave your electronics in a dry place. If they seem wet, leave them off until you know they are fully dry.

Honestly, I found the physical place to be a falling risk. there are many non-porous surfaces that are often wet which creates almost a frictionless surface. I've seen more than one injuryfrom people falling, including myself - and I'm a hiker of over 20 years with good shoes.don't get me wrong, the place is absolutely beautiful and the intent is very nice and loving, but until the high risks of slipping in the shower and falling on inclined planes is fixed, be very careful. For those who are concerned, there is no air conditioning anywhere, which I guess is the point of an eco+friendly place. Five stars for the people, one star for the safety, five stars for the beauty of the place, 1 star for the road to get to the place, 1 * for all the mosquitoes. Unfortunately, it's a mixed bag in the ratings for me.

Your review wil depend why you went there, if you are after enlightenment then his dance video ( Peak stop watch ) is enough to realise that you are already enlightened...now about this place, i dont know, i never been there, why would i want to go there and get enightened when mr ozen rajneesh has already showed us peak, stop, watch on youtube !! its all about exhausting the energy of the mind

This place is a dream come true, and a labor of love. A unique work of spiritual architecture. The food was healthy and delicious and the OZEN staff are wonderful, kind humans. Highly recommended! The perfect context for life-defining memories!

It all seems to be an act to me. I feel this why, because of the idolization many who attend this resort may have of this "Guru". Already they have set an expectation to themselves, that this Guru will give the knowledge of enlightenment, therefore all my problems of figuring out enlightenment, figuring out my emotions, are taken care of by this man. The truth, of your existence simply lies within you. I live in a chaotic environment, but I don't say to myself, "I need to run away from this environment, because the choas in which i live constantly disrupts my meditation". Infact quite the opposite, they only enhance & teach me weaknesses within myself, to not get bothered next time. Meditation, of course everyone forgets, is simple. Even in the Chaotic, unpredictable environment, you can find peace that truly can not be disturbed. But on a "peaceful Island", where they take your money, as an excuse to build a better resort. I do not see the peace in that, again it is an act to take your money at the end of the day. Unfortunately not an act of enlightenment, because once you leave this place with no distractions to teach yourself, and go back to the place you wanted to escape from, you have only created a fantasy to yourself of what enlightenment needs to be, or feel. We just need more undisturbed, meditative individuals, to mingle in this chaotic world, hopefully one day it will be a chaotic world of immense mediation. This place should be free, and not a permanent place to stay.
