En la región montañosa del Cofre de Perote, en el estado de Veracruz se encuentra Ixhuacán de los Reyes, una localidad que forma parte de la llamada "Ruta de Cortés". La zona fue parte de la ruta que utilizó Hernán Cortés junto con sus tropas para llegar a Tenochtitlán en 1519. Un pueblo que ha conservado parte de la arquitectura de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX.
El 6 de enero celebra su fiesta patronal, en honor a los Reyes Magos. Su gastronomía es el mole, chilatole de elote, chiles rellenos, chocos y frijoles con chocoyules.
 Ixhuacán de los Reyes
In the mountainous region of the Cofre de Perote, in the state of Veracruz is Ixhuacán de los Reyes, a town that is part of the so-called "Ruta de Cortés". The area was part of the route that Hernán Cortés used together with his troops to reach Tenochtitlán in 1519. A town that has preserved part of the architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
On January 6 it celebrates its patronal feast, in honor of the Three Kings. Its gastronomy is mole, corn chilatole, stuffed chili peppers, corn and beans with chocoyules.
