Pampanos - 97367 Celestún

Pampanos is a restaurant at Celestún town in front of the sea. It has a good parking area, so you don’t need look for a parking space which is scarce. The service is good and fast, while you wait for the food to arrive, the cold beer is must after a warm. We had three different dishes that we shared, all very good. More beer was needed, but with the police control that is half way to Merida, you have to just drink water or soda. While waiting for the sun to come down, you will see the waiters start collecting chairs and tables to take them inside. So by the sunset the entire restaurant is closed. One thing to know is that Celestún has only one carrier and nil data, so if your roaming carrier does not have agreement you wont be able to receive or make a call, less see internet.

I really wanted to like this place; beachfront seafood, cheap drinks, my toes in the sand and a sunset. If you have that going for you, you're establishment is starting with 5 stars from me. But Pampanos blew all of that. We sat down and waited, waited and waited some more. As the waiter walked by, we tried to flag him down. We eventually had to waive them over from where they were hanging with their coworkers, and after a brief discussion about who would help us, we were served. The drinks were fine, the Shrimp Ajo de Mojo was overcooked and the sauce tasted like canned garlic. The Blue Crab Mexicana was tasty. Our waiter told us he would be right back with silverware, but never brought any. All the wait staff was hanging out at a table, totally checked out. I've worked plenty of restaurant jobs where the place is a joke and expectations are at a minimal, but the most baseline of expectations were not met here.

We arrived before they opened but were allowed to sit in the sand. The food was very good, shrimp cocktail that HAD shrimp, a mixed plate at the center of the table. The service and the food were outstanding!

Nice location on the beach. Good margaritas, great kibis and empanadas. Service, and entres are just so-so. One of the few places that take credit cards.

A great restaurant on the beach, perfect for dinner with a beautiful sunset. It's very casual and boho - which is amazing for the feel and directly on the beach. The food was so fresh and you absolutely must try the crab. Everything on the menu was a delight, we also got the catch of the dear, the scallops seafood cocktail and a few other dishes.

This was Just really good food. Everswhere i go I ask for recommendations and often I am disappointed but this was really tasty.

Very nice place on the beatch with own showers. We spent there all afternoon.

We had nice drinks for good price, our food arrived quickly, meal was good but nothing special, reasonable price. What was bad was service. After we paid and were leaving, waiter opened the check book and started to complain, that we didn't tip him. He was really rude, saying things like NO POSIBLE, P*TA GRINGOS, etc. Need to said he didn't put any extra effort to deserve any tips :) And also in the evening we didn't feel quite well, so I do have doubts about quality of the food
