m	magui gro on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El barrio de tlaxcalilla fue donde inicio la ciudad ya que fue el primero en ser fundado la iglesia es de 1592 y se terminó cerca de 1610-1615 de estilo barroco pero en el interior tiene varias modificaciones de 1707 en la capilla que construyó el fundador de la ciudad frai diego de la Magdalena es donde se encuentran sus restos, en el templo se encontraron 3 retablos de madera sobredorada de los cuales se desconocen sus paraderos pero hay rumores de que uno de ellos está en la capilla de san Nicolás en cerro de San Pedro pero que fue destruido para convertirlo en neoclásico, sus 4 campanas principales son de oro y plata y por eso su sonido es muy fino como el de una moneda de plata o oro el Panteón de este barrio estuvo donde actualmente se encuentra el secati de la tercera donde todavía se encuentran los restos de una tumba con un letrero del instituto nacional de antropología este templo fue de los únicos en recibir la visita de Guillermo khalo el padre de Frida khalo más sin embargo ha sufrido de robos de patrimonio entre 2015-2018 como de adoquines como de las bancas que había en el jardin, anteriormente este no era un barrio sino Villa como todos los 7 barrios los cuales eran más grandes y contaban como municipio Villa de tlaxcalilla llegaba hasta san juanico el grande y chico, este es el 1er barrio con más leyendas de san Luis potosi las cuales son más de 8 de las cuales 4 son las mas famosas el barrio lamentablemente ha sido muy olvidado a pesar de su importancia. La portada es sencilla de un barroco sobrio con una pesada torre. El interior fue recientemente decorado en la década de 1950 pero aún así conserva arte sacro de importancia. Entre ellas 25 pinturas de los siglos XVII y XVIII además del claustro aunque torpemente abierto. Fue el lugar en donde según la tradición está enterrado fray Diego de la Magdalena fundador del pueblo de San Luis y el cronista Arlegui terminó su crónica.
