★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís. Junto con la Catedral o templo del Calvario, es el más importante de la ciudad. Su construcción se inició con la misma fundación de Tenancingo, en 1551, y tiene partes añadidas o restauradas, correspondientes a los siglos XVI al XIX, hechas por diferentes órdenes de misioneros. De acuerdo al "Catálogo Nacional de Monumentos Históricos Inmuebles", tomos I al III correspondientes al Estado de México por el INAH, su estado de conservación es B (bueno), a pesar de que sufrió cuarteaduras durante el terremoto de 1985. En años recientes fue restaurada en gran parte de su estructura y sus tesoros artísticos, gracias a la acción del patronato para el rescate del patrimonio Histórico de Tenancingo, hoy extinto. El día en que se festeja a su Santo Patrón es el 4 de octubre. Se encuentra ubicada frente a la Plaza Morelos, en el centro de la ciudad de Tenancingo.
Parish of San Francisco de Asís. Together with the Cathedral or temple of Calvary, it is the most important in the city. Its construction began with the very foundation of Tenancingo, in 1551, and has parts added or restored, corresponding to the 16th to the 19th centuries, made by different orders of missionaries. According to the "National Catalog of Real Estate Historical Monuments", volumes I to III corresponding to the State of Mexico by the INAH, its conservation status is B (good), despite the fact that it suffered cracks during the 1985 earthquake. It was largely restored to its structure and its artistic treasures, thanks to the action of the patronage for the rescue of the Historical heritage of Tenancingo, now extinct. The day on which its Patron Saint is celebrated is October 4. It is located in front of Plaza Morelos, in the center of the city of Tenancingo.
