We needed more time to explore, but there is a wonderful church here, supposedly built by Mayans (i was told this.. have not personally verified) and they built a snake into the stone work. Most interestingly, they hid it by not creating a head or tail!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool Park that I visited during a tour, it was at the center of Franciscan built buildings. There are vendors of ice cream, churros de leche, caramel, chocolate for ~$1-1.50 US. Also, the Marquesillas were delicious I love sweet and salty foods.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Francisco Canton square is in the very center of Valladolid with a gorgeous Cathedral dominating it.
It's a classic Spanish style plaza, rectangular in shape with many trees and benches, as well a fountain in the middle. Here you will also find the double curved lover chairs like in Merida.
The park is specially nice after dusk with many locals and street vendors around

What really impressed me more than the people was the joyous sound of all the birds singing that filled the air. I loved the whole experience and wish I could have sat in the park all day just watching and listening.
