★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es una de las iglesias más antiguas y más hermosas del valle de Toluca durante el Virreinato, albergaba un antiguo convento durante el siglo XVI, tiene decoración mayormente barroca, y sirvió como punto de trazo para la organización de las calles de la ciudad, si hay algo que me causó incertidumbre fue la pésima reciente restauración que hizo representar una pérdida importante del valor histórico que poseía el inmueble, al principio la idea estaba encaminada a reparar los daños que trajo consigo el sismo, ahora el resultado la hizo perder gran parte de su ornamentación y construcción original. Aclaro que yo escribí mis razones y hablé personalmente con el sacerdote para impedirlo, pero él hizo caso omiso gracias a la petulancia y fanatismo, ahora podemos ver el templo transformado descomunalmente y un ex convento convertido en un lugar que no se respeta, y no es aprovechado para difundir los siglos de historia que guarda.
Aún así me es bueno recordar aquellos tiempos en que la Iglesia se veía hermosa, y podía disfrutar de lo que ahora ha perdido.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tiene una vírgen de Guadalupe pintada al óleo al parecer de un pintor reconocido, interior tiene todas las figuras cubiertas de oro de 24 K madera tallada por artesanos una verdadera obra y su fiesta es del 15 al 31 de agosto hay pirotecnia, juegos mecánicos, kermes, barbacoa, carnitas y en el interior del mercado hay comedores con una gran variedad de comida tradicional los tianguis son los jueves y domingos eso sí, la gente la vez después de comer la vez, es su dicho de ese lugar (después de comer nos vemos) y último su zona arqueológica es matlazinca digna de visitar te esperan
