Apan tuvo un importante desarrollo económico en el siglo XVII, ya que se establecieron haciendas como las de Chimalpa, Malpaís, Mimiahuapan, Tetlapayac, Ocotepec y Tlaloyote, entre otras. Las haciendas dedicadas a la producción de pulque se favorecieron de la mano de obra de la región.

- Es una enooorme lastima que, (particularmente los miercoles de tianguis) se encuentre tan llena de basura.
- Y que tengan una micro estacionada dentro del jardín. ¡Gran tache!
