★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "Esta sencilla capilla de estilo franciscano primitivo levantada en el siglo XVI fue visita de la cercana Santa Cruz Acatlán. Redecorada en 1803 bajo el auspicio de don José Encarnación Valdés, para el 4 de febrero de 1834 fue bendecido su entonces espacioso atrio el cual servía de cementerio, siendo lugar donde fueron inhumadas numerosas víctimas de la epidemia de cólera que azotó a la ciudad por aquel entonces. Posteriormente el cementerio fue clausurado y el atrio desapareció.
Era paso obligado durante las celebraciones de cuaresma que alcanzaron notable fama en el cercano Paseo y Canal de La Viga, llevándose a cabo en este lugar la primera fiesta de la temporada ya que la fiesta patronal tiene verificativo el último domingo antes de carnaval.
Alcanzó el rango de parroquia, como otras de su tipo fuera del casco antiguo de la ciudad, al declarársele monumento histórico hacia 1932. Aún subsiste, con bien intencionadas, pero poco afortunadas intervenciones."

La fotografía en blanco y negro es una imagen cercana a 1930 de la parroquia de la Santa Cruz y la Preciosa Sangre de Cristo, mejor conocida, por sus dimensiones, como “Santa Crucita”.
Se encuentra en el cruce de las calles Clavijero, antigua Ferrocarril de San Rafael-Atlixco, y el Eje 2 Sur Av. del Taller, antes Calzada Santa Crucita, en la colonia Tránsito.
